Drugs of Abuse: Identification, Control and Investigation
*This Training is Restricted to Law Enforcement Personnel Only.  This class is Tennessee
P.O.S.T. approved.

Since old and new drugs of abuse continuously impact our nation, it is important law
enforcement officers know what they are dealing with when enforcing state drug laws.  This
training expands on the traditional ‘Narcotics Identification and Investigation’ course, and is
designed to provide the road officer and experienced drug investigator with a level of improved
awareness of both old and new drugs of abuse that can support their drug enforcement efforts.
This class will also provide a variety of innovative techniques that can be used to control and
decrease the abuse and sale of drugs in any community served.

TOPICS INCLUDE:
¦ A review of abused substances, both controlled and over-the-counter.
¦ Examining a variety of investigative techniques for enforcing drug law.
¦ A review of specific search and seizure concerns that impact drug law enforcement.
¦ Specific methods to support effective drug enforcement and control.
¦ Methods for safe and effective Undercover and Proactive Drug Control Operations.

Presented by an instructor with over a decade of specific investigative work on traditional drug and undercover
investigations, he has also been used as a Subject Matter Expert for Drug Investigations.  Having worked on
and supervised several local, state and federal task forces, he has provided training on Drug Investigation and
Identification since 1986.
